The Norwegian commercial aquaculture industry turned 50 in 2020, but due to the global Covid19 crisis, the marking was canceled then. On 28 May 2021, Seafood Norway, Hitra Municipality, the Coastal Museum in Sør-Trøndelag and the Norwegian Ministry of Trade and Fisheries are arranging a celebration of the industry that has been so important for business development in Norway during these fifty years.
The celebration will be arranged both digitally and physically at three major aquaculture locations on the Norwegian coast. The physical celebration at the three locations will be a bit limited due to the ongoing pandemic, but it will be possible for everyone to follow the celebration via online TV. The TV show will be led by well-known Norwegian TV personalities and will include interviews with pioneers and other important guests.
This will be a celebration of the industry's pioneers who invested everything they owned to create what has become a very successful industrial adventure for Norway.
