In relation to WP9.2 this was an opportunity to present BRIDGES and all its partners to World Wildlife Fund to discuss aquaculture solutions and avenues for collabration.
The World Wildlife Fund visited Frøya to interview our local seaweed farmer Seaweed Solutions, our mayor Kristin Furunes Strømskag and local innovation company Blått Kompetansesenter AS about the importance of working together to realize new technologies and solutions that can address not only rising global challenges in carbon emissions and food supply, but also supporting the growth of regional communities.
Alexandra Cousteau and World Wildlife Fund in partnership with our local seaweed farmers Seaweed Solutions are working on a global study Oceans 2050 which looks at ocean restoration by assessing the role of seaweed aquaculture for the world’s oceans and the climate.
